KitchenAid is most well known for having one of the most prized and sought after stand mixers. However, these are far from their only products. KitchenAid also has a line of high-end appliances that includes products like:
- Dishwashers
- Cooktops
- Refrigerators
- Countertop appliances
- Blenders
- Food processors
However, as is true of many companies, KitchenAid does not manufacture its own large appliances. So who does? Keep reading to find out.
Whirlpool Manufacturers Most KitchenAid Large Appliances
KitchenAid was founded in 1919 and was initially a subsidiary of the Hobart Company. In 1989, the KitchenAid company was bought by Whirlpool and Whirlpool now manufactures almost all of the KitchenAid appliance line.
KitchenAid’s Small Appliances Are Not Manufactured by Whirlpool
However, the small appliances KitchenAid is known for are not manufactured by Whirlpool. Does that mean that they are made by KitchenAid? No – other companies manufacturer these small appliances. For example, past models have been made by In-Sink-Erator and WC Wood.
KitchenAid is Distributed by Many Companies
In addition to being manufactured by other companies, KitchenAid is also distributed and sold by many other companies including major retailers like Sears and Home Depot, as well as smaller retailers that sell Whirlpool products. It is also important to note that Whirlpool also owns Jenn Air, Maytag, and several other brands, which are often sold alongside KitchenAid products.
